PAS/EPR Development Approach

A unique development approach producing quality applications quickly

PCS is developed using a set of rapid development tools which enable the delivery of a consistent approach to the look, feel and structure that ensures both affordability and excellent value for money. Existing modules can be rapidly enhanced to include new features. The PCS user interface offers a proven, intuitive approach to minimise customer training requirements.

PCS is unique in that applications are developed and supported from an integrated library of functions; each is developed once which gives a robust and consistent approach across all modules. Therefore the operation and capability of any application can be rapidly changed and enhanced in accordance with customer needs.

This exclusive development approach has kept PCS at the leading edge of NHS systems, usually being the first to market to meet the requirements of new NHS initiatives, for example:

  • Choose & Book Compliance (P1R1 and P1R2) – PCS provided the NHS’ first operational Choose & Book site using P1R2 with seamless P1R1 to P1R2 messaging.
  • Initiatives such as the 18 week wait requirements are provided as standard, supported by separate functionality for Diagnostic Wait Times
  • Recent NHS requirements related to MRSA management were already an integral part of the system.
  • E-discharge is a standard feature allowing rapid transmission of clinical information between the hospital clinician and the patient’s GP.
